What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is comprised of two parts that mimic your natural tooth. The implant’s “root” is a titanium steel rod that is surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a root. Once the rod is in place and the healing is complete, a porcelain crown is attached to replace the top part of your tooth. While the implant is healing and bone is regenerating around the implant, you will be wearing a healing cap as a temporary crown to protect the implant and fill in for the missing tooth or teeth.

Dental implants can be used to anchor bridges and dentures for increased functionality and improved appearance.

What Are the Advantages of Dental Implants?

    service image

  • 40 years of sf successful tooth replacement
  • Act like your natural tooth — you won’t feel a difference
  • Can last a lifetime with proper care and good oral hygiene
  • Are minimally invasive — your adjacent healthy teeth are untouched, unlike a bridge
  • Maintain your natural bone and minimize further bone loss
  • Provide stability and comfort
  • Can anchor bridges and dentures in place

Like dominos that fall when one is knocked over, a missing tooth will have the same effect in your mouth. The roots of our teeth protect against bone loss. When a tooth is missing, the other teeth will shift position towards the gap due to bone loss. Missing teeth will also affect how your upper and lower teeth come together — without opposing teeth, the upper or lower teeth will move up or down into the gap where the missing tooth once was.
